Peter Hutter

Like the look of the old-Roman God Janus with his two faces is directed at the same time forwards and back, in past and future, so is reflected in the pictures of the Berlin artist Peter Hutter our present shaped by memory and vision. As an expression sign of his thoughts the art-historically educated painter uses elements of the modern city, which are shaped everywhere in the world by a chaotic next to each other by traditional and new architecture: allegoric anonymous building fragments and ruins stand for the past; a mirror fronts resembling net for the becoming thing. By the assembly of so not matching building elements and nature elements comes into existence an imaginary world, by which the spectator is to become lively own reflections.
