VG Bild-Kunst e.V. (Society of Utilization for Picture-Art)
The Society of Utilization for PICTURE ART is an association created of the authors (artist, photographer and film author) for the perception of its rights. She protects the copyrights for all of her members and the members of foreign sister organization within the visual range, which the individual author for practical or legal reasons cannot notice.
It has the following task:
- Collection and distribution of overall copyright deliveries (e.g. private copy remuneration, press mirror etc.),
- licensing and pursuit of individual rights (e.g. follower-genuine, reproduction rights of educating artists)
- political
and legal stabilization of the copyright protection (e.g. statements to
legislation project, conclusion of total contracts)
From
this profits the authors such as users equally. The author, because he
cannot defend frequently effectively as individual and the users,
because they can acquire all necessary rights from one hand.
The
entry to the VG PICTURE ART takes place via conclusion of a perception
contract, by which the right perception relevant in the respective
occupational group will be transferred, to the society of utilization.
The
distribution of the received remuneration takes place after a plan of
distribution, which is decided by the meeting of the members. Therein
it is also specified whether and which portion of the income for social
or culture-promoting purposes becomes related.
Membership
dues are not raised. For the covering of its administration expense the
society retains portions of arising. This cost set amounts to with
consequence -, reproduction and broadcasting rights 10%. In the
remaining areas the sentence is determined annually due to the costs,
2001 amounted to it on the average 9 % again.
